GRADUATION COLLECTION

My graduation project is inspired by my family immigration from Iraq to Israel in the 1950s. For several generations, my family has been engaged in the textile industry.
Upon immigrating to Israel, they were allowed to take one suitcase and leave their entire lives and heritage behind.
This suitcase made me think how we could just as easily reduce our lifestyles, in the reality that society dictates materiality as an existential need. The minimalist approach to modern living believes that we are surrounded by distractions and not look at what really matters.
The collection creates a dialogue between maximalism and minimalism and aims to convey a sense of nostalgia, quality and temporality expressed in monochromatic colours.
This project is honoured the craftsmanship they left behind by adapting them to modern times.
